Great read Lance Navarro. I think a lot of depends on how you were raised and how you and your family grew up around each other.

When I left for University, I moved to a different city, and although I was only a train ride away, it did feel like a world away… However, I thrived in that environment.

I think it served to highlight that we maybe were not that close as a family.

8 years on, I have only just returned to the city my parents are in due to work. The relationship is more tight knit now, it seems to have developed with age.

I guess it really depends on how close you are with your family, I totally understand your viewpoint!
